Parkinson’s Support Group – Edencrest at Beaverdale

Join us at Edencrest at Beaverdale for our Parkinson’s Support Group! Designed to provide a supportive space for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones. This group offers an opportunity to share experiences, exchange resources, and build connections with others who understand the journey. Led by compassionate facilitators, our meetings will include guest speakers, educational topics, and open discussions to foster empowerment and community. This group is run in partnership with the Iowa Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association.

We found all the resident assistants to be very kind and helpful. There are many activities for us to do, and we can choose those enjoy participating in. They also have a variety of musical entertainment that come in throughout each month. As we gather for our meals, we feel like we are at a large family gathering.

I love that there are always plenty of things to do. I really enjoy playing bingo and going to exercise class. The food is always good! The housekeepers do a great job cleaning my apartment each week and if I need it more. I enjoy all the things that are offered and always going on for us.

The Edencrest facility in Johnston is the kind of place you want your loved ones to be at should they need this type of care. The staff is extremely professional and caring, and treat all of their residents with the respect and dignity they deserve. They go out of their way to care for their residents. They have taken great care of my folks- including hospice care for my stepdad when his health began to fail. They have cared for my Mom in the memory care unit, and continue to help her live a joyful life. I highly recommend this facility!
